Phantasy Star Online 2 Classes And Races

Phantasy Star Online 2 Classes And Races – Released its PC client in the West yesterday on the Microsoft Store. Before its debut, an English client was also available on Xbox One. Featuring crossplay and fantastic space aesthetics,

Featuring a race and class system. A character’s race and gender, along with their class, affect their stat growth. While this may be important when it comes to minimum endgame top-tier content, a sub-optimal racial and gender stat adjustment generally won’t be much of a hindrance. Most of the time, this equates to a small amount of damage and waiting a few extra levels to equip certain gear. Skill is more than raw statistics when it comes to success

Phantasy Star Online 2 Classes And Races

Race and gender affect a character’s base stats. As a general rule, males have a higher MEL and females have a higher TEC. The RNG is probably the same, but female characters also have a slight advantage in that department whether playing a CAST or Deuman. PP and PP generation are not affected by a character’s race or gender. Players can change their class at any point in the ARKS lobby at the class counter, though they will need to level each one separately. The community has compiled several viable builds into a Google Doc. Resetting skills at this time costs real money.

Talk to Bhea to change classes. Training is also available at mission counters for “practice quests”.

Races and genders can be organized on a simple chart. The highest stat multiplier for each race/gender combo is in green , with the lowest possible in red . At the level cap, however, players will have enough supplemental equipment to offset any statistical differences that are disputed.

Race (Gender) | HP | MEL | RNG | TEC | DEX | MEL-DEF | RNG-DEF | TEC-DEF | medium

Person (M)     | 105% | 104% | 103% | 100% | 100% | 105% | 100% | 100% | 102.13%

Normal, everyday people. Humans have no particular stat deficiencies and above average HP growth. Humans can fill any class well, thanks to their well-balanced stats. Humans are a great choice if you’re not sure which class you want to play or want to play multiple classes.

Phantasy Star Online 2 Review

Genetically altered people are like elves. These are suited to the Force and Techter classes. Both Newman males and females have below average HP, but a 108% and 110% boost in TEC, respectively. This is the highest multiplier in any of the races. This comes at a price, however, meaning that many Newmans get pigeonholed into Tech-based classes. Newmans possess the lowest average stats overall.

This incarnation of CASTs comes from sick people or Newmans with great Photon aptitude. CASTs make for heavy melee and ranged combatants. Their high MEL and RNG, along with good HP and DEX, make them great for a variety of classes and roles. Their below-average TEC, however, makes leveling TEC-based classes quite difficult.

Artificial horned humanoid creations, the Deumans (especially the single-horned males) take some inspiration from the Japanese oni. Deumans make excellent glass cannons, with reduced HP and average defenses but good offensive stats overall. Males boast the highest MEL, at 107%, and Deuman females tie with CAST females for the highest RNG (105%). Deumans can fit into most classes, but will need to be played with a little more care than humans.

Classes also possess stat multipliers. At character creation, characters can choose from any of the main classes except Fighter, Gunner, and Techter. Classes can be accessed in the ARKS Lobby after completing the tutorial by talking to Bhea.

What Newcomers Need To Know About Phantasy Star Online 2

Lacks the holy trinity of Tank-DPS-Healer. Forces and especially Techters tend to slot buffing and healing abilities in addition to their offense.

A close range fighter with high HP, MEL, and M-DEF. Hunters are a great choice for new players, with straightforward gameplay and high durability. They have the highest average stats, slightly buffered by their 118% HP adjustment. Although there is no traditional role of the tank

, Hunters make fantastic melee subclasses due to their passive offense and defense boosts. Hunters tend to subclass into Fighters (HuFi).

Rangers specialize in mid-range combat. They have increased RNG and R-DEF, allowing them to safely take out enemies from afar. Rangers deal sustained damage, being able to switch between assault rifles and launchers for single-target and AoE, respectively. Like most classes, Rangers tend to subclass the Hunter (RaHu).

Equivalent to magicians. Forces use different long-range strategies to change the tide of battle. Despite their weakness, they can provide support and utility with their respectable TEC and T-DEF. Forces possess the lowest average stat multiplier, along with Techters. Almost always forcing sub Techters (FoTe) to make their PP use more efficient. Because they are so weak, Forces are generally recommended for more advanced players.

Adaptable to both melee and ranged combat, Bravers make great first characters when learning how combat works. Katana builds can take advantage of a long window of invulnerability, giving players a safety net. Much of the gameplay comes down to timing and perfect guards, blocking enemy attacks at the last second before facing off. Despite above average stats, they have poor TEC. Hunter is the clear subclass winner here, meaning you’ll see a few BrHus running around.

Apart from poor RNG, Bouncers boast above-average parameters. They are effective in both close and medium range combat, using a combination of flowing melee and Tech attacks. Bouncers, like Forces, try to exploit elemental weaknesses for massive damage. Yes, Bouncers also sub-sub to Hunter (BoHu).

Gameplay, Summoners are a pet class. They ordered their pets around to fight for them. They are quite versatile, with calls for every situation. A more passive play style and having to pick up their pets means this class is better after learning how combat works. Many Summoners dip into Fighter (SuFi).

Melee attackers, Fighters use flashy attacks to quickly kill opponents. They are more fragile than Hunters when it comes to HP, but are faster with single target damage. This results in a high-risk, high-reward style of play. Again, Hunter (FiHu) wins here when it comes to subclassing.

Like Rangers, Gunners focus on medium range combat with their light projectile weapons. The Twin Machine Guns, however, mean they’ll get closer to the front of the party. Gunner gameplay involves dodging attacks and leading to large Chain Triggers before using a Finisher Boost. Their evasive abilities give them large windows of invulnerability, making them an evasive tank. Gunners, yes, swim in Hunter (GuHu).

. They trade RNG for MEL and T-DEF for M-DEF, using wands to close and attack enemies. Techters buff themselves and the party with Shifta (offense) and Deband (defense) before entering battle. The mini-explosions from their wands make for decent AoE. Their skill trees tend to make wand combat and support spells better. Most take Hunter for a subclass (TeHu) to increase their melee survivability.

Is free to play and can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Be sure to set your computer’s region to the U.S. first, though, otherwise you won’t be able to access the download. If you’re experiencing other installation problems, however, take comfort in the fact that you’re not alone. Joseph Allen’s own Joseph Allen has compiled some links and resources to try running the game.
