Online Fire Science Classes

Online Fire Science Classes – Firefighting is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world – and in many parts of the US, it’s a volunteer job. In many large cities and municipalities, however, the fire protection service is very high, and that will become more common. Fire protection is complex, from the technical and practical skills of firefighting to the organizational challenges of cooperation between cities, especially in large-scale events such as forest fires. That’s why many fire services require a bachelor’s degree for firefighters and administrators, and active instructors are under pressure to catch up.

Colleges and universities have developed all kinds of ways to make a bachelor’s degree in fire science online suitable for working firefighters. In addition to accelerated schedules (courses lasting only 6-8 weeks instead of the usual 16), fire science programs offer generous credit transfers. Since most firefighters already have associate’s degrees, they are among bachelor’s; they can finish in as little as 18 months. When work experience credits and certifications are added to it, a bachelor’s degree in fire science can take as little as a year.
