Students must register for a certificate by paying the $175 certificate registration fee before completing the last course of the program. All for-credit courses that have a “pass” grade and are aligned with a certificate program can be transferred to this program.
Berklee instructors and experienced professionals teach our courses. Our faculty are recognized experts in their respective fields – they have produced and designed hundreds of artists and numerous award-winning projects, and several of their students have been nominated for GRAMMY Awards.
Financial aid is available for Berklee degrees. This support can come from a variety of sources, including government grants, outside grants, and private loans.
There are no federal grants for non-university courses. Non-degree students usually finance their costs out of their own pockets or with a private loan. Check our payment options.

What happens if I submit my degree application late? Do I still have to apply by December 1st even if I don’t want to attend the opening ceremony?
Because we must coordinate with the Boston campus to begin, it is important that students planning to attend the ceremony submit their graduation application by 12:00 p.m. ET on December 1st. If you submit your application late, you will have to wait until next year on foot.
We ask all students who wish to graduate in the current academic year to apply for graduation by December 1st, regardless of whether they wish to attend the commencement course. Late applications from students who choose not to walk will result in delays in the processing of your academic transcripts and diploma, and your name may not appear on the ceremony program.
You may begin commencement if you are nine (9) credits or less from completing your degree requirements by the end of the spring semester. Please note: Berklee students do not have to walk to get started in Boston.
Music Business Certificate
Note Passing the stage at the beginning does not mean you have graduated. You will not officially graduate and receive your diploma until you meet all admission requirements.
I just finished my final semester at Berklee! What happens next? Do I have to do anything?
Congratulations on graduation! If you have already completed a Graduation Application, you should review the “Graduation Checklist” to ensure that you have addressed all graduation-related issues. If you have not completed a degree application, you must do so as soon as possible. You cannot complete your degree until we have received and processed your degree application.
You will receive your diploma within 6-8 weeks after completing your study requirements. Please note that lecturers have up to two (2) weeks to submit final grades after the end of the semester.

I didn’t get credit for my official rating for all the courses I thought I’d get. What should I do?
The sooner you contact us with questions or concerns about your review, the easier it is for us to address any issues. It is therefore very important that you check the information carefully when you first receive your official transfer assessment.
If you notice a remaining requirement that you think you have already met, first consult our Common Reasons for Not Transferring Credit document. It is possible that the course you are considering does not meet our admission requirements.
If none of these exclusions apply, please complete a Transfer Credit Equivalency Reassessment form for the courses you wish to reconsider.

Sometimes we are unable to find specific information for a course and we are unable to determine equivalence, but we are happy to look at additional material that will help us with this determination.
Do my Berklee, Berklee campus, or Prior Learning credit courses count towards the 60 transfer credit limit?
No, credits earned at Berklee or through the previous learning process do not count toward the 60 transfer credit limit. This maximum applies to creditable examinations and study achievements at Bachelor level that are provided externally.
Credit deficits are caused by transferring a course that is less than three (3) credits to meet a Berklee requirement of three (3) credits. Students with credit deficits will not have the minimum number of credits required for graduation once they have completed their program requirements. In order to be able to complete the course, you must catch up on the missing coursework.
Best Online Music Education Degree Bachelors
Although the transfer team will do their best to avoid students receiving credit lapses, this is not always possible. You can make up the credits you are deficient by completing additional Berklee coursework, applying for prior learning credit, or completing additional external coursework in the area in which you are deficient.
It depends. In general, credits cannot be used to meet prerequisites unless we determine that the course you have taken corresponds to one of the courses we offer at Berklee. Note that there are some courses that require you to pass a placement test. For these, you must pass the test to meet the requirement, otherwise you must complete the appropriate Berklee course.
Yes you can. Contact the transfer team at [email protected] to determine if the coursework you have already completed or plan to complete qualifies for your remaining study requirements.

Berklee is regionally accredited by the New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE), the same association that accredits our main campus and other leading academic institutions such as Harvard University and MIT. Our courses are transferrable to other institutions, but it is up to the receiving institution to decide the number and type of courses that can be transferred. We recommend having a course pre-approved by an institution prior to enrolling.
Tuition for Berklee programs is approximately 64 percent lower than tuition at Berklee’s Boston campus. In addition, a recent study found that average annual tuition at for-profit colleges is more than double that at Berklee. Even the average annual tuition at other accredited nonprofit universities is approximately $11,000 more than a year’s tuition at Berklee!
There is a one-time registration fee of $175 per certificate program. Students can either pay per course semester (at the course cost of $1,515 per credit) or in full to receive a 10% discount. The registration fee and all courses for the semester
