An offender must pay for the program out of his own pocket. However, the overall cost usually depends on the defendant’s financial status.

California Family Code 6211 FC provides a more detailed definition of domestic violence. According to this section, DV is abuse against any of the following persons:
California law states that if the victim of domestic violence is any of the above parties, the offender must be placed on probation for at least three years.
In addition, participants must sign a confidentiality agreement prohibiting disclosure of information learned or acquired through participation in the program.
